The Complete News Skim Comics back online…

July 3rd, 2005 Posted in Archives, Blog Posts

Howdy, folks. It’s a three-day weekend here in America-land, and that can only mean one thing for yours truly: waking up puffy-faced and confused in a stranger’s bathtub. But if it meant two things, that second thing would be site maintenance. I’ve received on average about ten helpful emails a month for the last six months letting me know that my News Skim comics are not present on my site. More industrious readers used the site’s Search function and managed to locate the comics, but found that none of the links worked.

Not one to procrastinate, I’ve courageously fixed this problem a mere half a year after it appeared. Longtime readers who remember my non-existent “Art” section, which appeared in my contents for some two years without any content, will immediately see this enormous lag as JP.com status quo. Newer readers anxiously awaiting the “News and Reviews” section I’ve been promising for three months: look forward to it mid-April, 2017!

Check out the fully online News Skim comics below. With the exception of ‘Four Science Fellows’, all the material you see below originally appeared as site content for David Wong’s Pointless Waste of Time, as part of his ongoing News Skim feature. I also co-wrote a few articles with him, including the Urban Legends Database, Summer Movie Preview 2004 and The Matrix Resolutions. If you haven’t checked out his site before, it’s pretty damn funny.

Also, those of you who’ve enjoyed the site since old times should note that JP.com celebrates its three-year anniversary this coming Thursday, July 7th. That’s right, folks: despite my procrastination and unwillingness to update for weeks at a time, somehow this useless thing’s been around for three years.

The
Complete News Skim Comics

The five-comic opus I taught myself my leet
Photoshop skillz on. It concerns itself with the 2004 American election,
so it’s a bit dated. Still lots of swearing and fights, though.

Operation
Texas-Style Success!

A comic about distinguished gentleman Tony
Blair and two-fisted cowboy George Bush’s tenuous friendship in the
face of non-existent WMDs.

Tastes
Like Honey

A comic about the Michael Jackson trial. No,
not this last one. One of the ones before it. If I’d known Jackson
would be in and out of court more often than the bathroom, I might
not have bothered.

Four
Science Fellows

JP.com handles the issue of stem cell research
the only way that makes sense: with a retarded comic that offends
everyone.
