About the Author
Jay Pinkerton is a published comedy writer and current editor of CRACKED Magazine in New York City, as well as the former Managing Editor of the National Lampoon's website. He runs this non-profit site in his spare time. JP.com was originally designed as an online portfolio for his work. After some successes in selling comedy bits, it morphed into an "online graveyard" of sorts for unsold or previously unreleased material.
At some point last year, however, strong word of mouth and the linking efforts of several great folks suddenly launched the site to a level of visibility he hadn't counted on. Up to the challenge, the site was redesigned once again—this time as an overview of his work, both published and unpublished, with the hope of entertaining bored internet people. Had Jay known the site would have been as popular as it's become, he most likely wouldn't have given it the self-loving title Jay Pinkerton.com, which made sense for an online portfolio but now looks kind of silly as a website.
All the same, that's how things worked out. Jay now has the honor of fielding emails from numerous crazy people throughout the world, all of whom know his real name and where to find him. Jay also now sleeps with a loaded Magnum under his pillow, with one eye forever open to anything that might come through the front door begging for a few choice slugs.
Jay's work can be found at National Lampoon, Modern Humorist, Big Jewel, Pointless Waste of Time, Good Magazine, Taddle Creek, Lost Brain and other publications. Feel free to contact him with compliments and abuse.
